Katrina H. Holland

Katrina H. Holland is the Executive Director of the Medical Library Association, a global, nonprofit educational organization, with a membership of more than 2,500 institutions and professionals in the health information field. She brings more than 25 years of experience in executive leadership in association management. Her twenty-five year career has spanned multiple professions including medtech, nursing, science, tax, medicine and law.  In all her roles, she has led teams that grew and diversified revenue, strengthened the organization and advanced meaningful missions.

Prior to this role, Katrina was the inaugural Executive Director of MedTech Color, an 8-year-old organization focused on advancing inclusive perspectives in medtech by promoting the development of medical devices and digital applications that improve health outcomes for diverse populations. Before joining MedTech Color, she was the Chief Executive Officer of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, $5M professional membership organization serving more than 6,000 certified nurse midwives and certified midwives.  Here she spearheaded major strategic shifts focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion as a key business enabler of innovation.  Her work at ACNM, during a financial turnaround, brought in over a million dollars and helped to fund critical research that focused on health equity, reducing health disparities and growing and diversifying the midwifery workforce.  Katrina represented the organization externally and presented on Capitol Hill as well as participating in Congressional Black Caucus Healthcare Roundtables.

Before advancing to the C-Suite, she held various other senior roles at the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the International Association for the Study of Pain, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Katrina has spoken on multiple national panels and she actively mentors and advocates for up-and-coming C-Suite Executives through the Executive Lens Collective.  She is the recipient of a certificate of special recognition from the Honorable John P. Sarbanes and a Governor’s Citation from the State of Maryland for her mentorship and advocacy efforts.  Katrina holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Chicago. She currently lives in Prince George’s County Maryland with her husband and two children.
