Kathy Akagha, MPH

Kathy Akagha is a Senior Director, Clinical Affairs, in the Edwards Lifesciences THV business unit. She has been at Edwards Lifesciences for 7.5 years and in the pharma/med device industry for nearly 30 years.
At Edwards, she leads the Patient Activation, ID & Engagement functional unit with the mission to get potential clinical trial participants off the sidelines so that clinical trial outcomes are more generalizable and inclusive of the intended population.
Kathy’s professional mission is to empower high performing clinical affairs team members to efficiently execute clinical studies and trials at diversely located hospitals, academic medical centers, as well as underserved community health centers that champion the cumulation of solid, generalizable clinical evidence to support the approval of life-saving heart valves.
