Josie Everett is the executive director of Heart to Heart International Children’s Medical Alliance, a Bay Area-based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to cardiac care worldwide. Josie first served as volunteer interpreter in 1995; three years later, she was invited to join as Heart to Heart’s third executive director. She has led more than 35 site assessment and surgical-educational missions to Russia and Peru. Since assuming her position at Heart to Heart, she has helped launch and develop six new cardiac programs in Russia and two in Peru, introducing life-saving heart care to tens of millions of families for the first time. She has secured over $8 million foundation grants and individual donations, and nearly $20 million in in-kind support.

Josie has 25 years of professional nonprofit experience. She completed two years of graduate work at the Monterey Institute of International Studies and holds a B.A. in History, with a minor in Russian, from UC Berkeley.
