Job Description:

The Vice President, Global Marketing is part of the HeartFlow marketing and sales organization and will report directly to SVP of Marketing, Customer Success, and International Sales.  The job will focus on planning, developing, and executing marketing strategy, branding, messaging and market communication, market development, and sales training for HeartFlow to drive growth.
This position will work from our Mountain View, CA offices and require approximately 25% travel.
The job scope of the Vice President of Global Marketing encompasses all downstream marketing activities and will lead a team of marketers to achieve the following:

Product Marketing:
  • Develop comprehensive strategic and tactical plans for product launches, marketing campaigns, and promotional efforts that align with the company’s commercial strategy.
  • Operate both at a strategic level, leading long-term planning and forecasting, and at a tactical level, executing key deliverables on short timelines to achieve the target.
  • Understand the patient pathway and key stakeholders’ needs to develop effective value propositions and key messages (supported by HeartFlow clinical data and technology) to drive behavioral changes.
  • Closely manage timelines across all activities, and update and revise frequently based on shifting priorities and company milestones.
  • Set metrics to measure the effectiveness of the marketing programs.
  • Partner closely with sales organization; contribute to the development of overall commercial strategy.

Market Development:

  • Leverage market research and 3rd party data to size the market opportunity and segment the market
  • Perform in-depth analysis with both key external and internal stakeholders to understand the adoption barriers
  • Build short and long-term market development plans to prioritize and breakdown adoption barriers to drive technology to standard-of-care

Marketing Communications:

  • Develop strategic communications and competitive positioning for HeartFlow.
  • Establish and execute marketing communication plan by building an omnichannel strategy to drive company profile/product awareness and value propositions through leveraging key milestones (e.g., launches, clinical data presented at major medical meetings, etc.).
  • Define focus/presence at key conferences.
  • Develop messages, press materials, and other communications tools.
  • Develop multimedia and digital strategies to leverage media placements.

Sales Training:

  • Design best-in-class curriculum (including e-learning, hands-on training, and peer-to-peer coaching) to onboard and certify new sales reps
  • Collaborate with marketers to provide continued training and education to existing reps on the latest messaging and campaigns
  • Develop sales training platform with the latest technology to drive training effectiveness and measure business impact

Cross-functional Team and Customer Partnership:

  • Identify and pursue thought-leadership opportunities for the executive team (CEO, CMO, CTO).
  • Build relationships with KOLs and patients who can help showcase HeartFlow technology/ innovation with media.
  • Coach spokespeople (executives, KOLs, patients) on the delivery of key messages.
  • Partner with advocacy groups as appropriate.
  • Identify and anticipate issues and develop plans to minimize the negative impact on company/brand reputation effectively.
  • Identify and develop KOL speakers to participate in programs, symposia, and peer-to­peer educational efforts.
  • Coordinate with Medical Affairs to identify and influence podium presentations at key conferences.
  • Manage agencies as needed.
  • Coordinate media activities for each of HeartFlow’s focused geographies.
  • Establish and execute plans to ensure patient and referring physician engagement.
  • Coordinate with the Market Access team to ensure a comprehensive marketing/communication plan for market access customers.
  • Lead and coordinate Global/National Sales Meeting as well as support for area meetings.
  • Lead the Field Advisory Board (representing Sales team) and ensure feedback is incorporated in marketing plans and resources.

Ideal Background Will Include:

  • Experience and track record in developing and launching marketing campaigns to drive business results
  • Experience in leading market development effort to drive technology to become standard-of-care
  • Experience translating complex clinical and health economics data to support value proposition and build campaign messaging
  • Prior experience launching products
  • Proven experience with integrated marketing communications planning and managing omnichannel strategy, with emphasis on digital/social media.
  • Experience in close collaboration with the sales organization to drive campaign execution as well as training and education

  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive results

Educational Requirements and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferably business, engineering, or science. MBA strongly preferred.
  • Dynamic leader with 10+ years of experience in marketing (B2B healthcare marketing preferred), including proven success in leadership and people management positions
  • Previous medical device, life science, or healthcare experience
  • Experience developing and launching branded and unbranded campaigns
  • Experience launching products
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience translating clinical and health economic data to promotional messaging
