Description

We are looking for a Director New Growth Innovation. The successful candidate will lead the discovery and incubation of new strategic growth opportunities into future business pillars. This individual will evaluate adjacent market opportunities and manage milestone-driven processes that accelerate iRhythm’s growth aspirations and drive toward future value creation and revenue.

This role is a key player on the Corporate Strategy team working closely with iRhythm’s top executives and cross-functional partners to ensure that the company stays on its fast growth trajectory and delivers on our vision to prevent and predict disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic innovation efforts including program exploration, product ideation, and go-to-market strategies. Drive process and manage progress to evaluate and deliver new corporate innovation that creates value and contributes to top-line growth.
    • Evaluate adjacent markets and determine where to play and how to win strategies
    • Oversee the development and management of select advanced research and innovation processes including product/solution ideation and creation of business cases to support initiatives
    • Coordinate with business development to evaluate white space markets and explore partnership opportunities
  • Create working hypotheses on how to win strategies that solve for unmet needs across various adjacent markets. Incubate research and discovery ideas with clear metrics and KPIs for each phase gate to mitigate risk and determine further investment.
  • Ensure innovation aligns with market opportunities, addresses unmet needs and has a viable business model by working alongside clinical affairs and market intelligence teams. Commission qualitative and quantitative market research projects as needed.
  • Oversee multiple inter-disciplinary project teams. Collaborate and consult with R&D Advanced Research, Clinical and Business Development teams to consider key questions and milestones for pilots, programs and partnerships.
  • Create visibility across the organization to innovation pilots and programs, shaping a long-term capability and building a culture of innovation.
  • Ensure discovery programs are adequately resourced.

About you:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in business, life sciences, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including broad-based experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, commercial go-to-market and market/financial analysis; top-tier management consulting or investment banking firm experience preferred
  • Strong leader with demonstrated experience influencing across organizations, creating new paths of opportunity and driving change
  • Business case and project oriented, strategic sighted
  • Effective collaborator and communicator, able to build trusting relationships and facilitate effective communication to drive forward diverse and new ideas
  • Experienced, hands-on project manager adept at establishing processes, creatively solving problems, facilitating cross functional teams, and managing through significant ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to stay curious, fail forward, manage uncertainty and expectations and pivot organization toward resolution
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, self-directed, team player with a “results-driven’ mindset and who demonstrates agility to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives
  • Not afraid to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and work with details as well as the big picture
  • Relevant life science industry experience
