On September 13th, 2016, the sixth annual MedtechVISION conference was held, bringing together 240 women in medtech, medicine, venture capital, and related fields. The interactive discussion focused on Global Medtech.

Increased focus in the medtech industry on global markets in recent years has led to exciting innovation and evolution in product development, commercialization models and even funding strategies. MedtechVISION2016 explored opportunities for medtech to continue to thrive globally.

Kim Popovits, CEO of Genomic Health, was honored as the recipient of the 2016 Ferolyn Powell Award.

Shifting climates for public and private reimbursement, coupled with a weaker appetite for medtech investments within the venture capital community have made it especially difficult for early-stage companies in the US to secure funding. This environment has led many medtech companies to seek alternative methods of funding, including international funding or earlier entry to global markets as a revenue source. This panel will explore recent trends in funding, market mechanisms, and launch strategies outside the US.
